
Zorena Anderson Selected as 2024 É«¶à¶àÊÓÆµScholar

É«¶à¶àÊÓÆµ the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA SA (“AXA”), today announced that the 2024 É«¶à¶àÊÓÆµScholarship has been awarded to Bermudian university student and former Co-Captain of the U17 Bermuda Women’s National Football Team, Zorena Anderson.
The É«¶à¶àÊÓÆµScholarship is a full scholarship awarded to students pursuing an undergraduate degree in (re)insurance industry related studies.
Nineteen-year-old Zorena is studying Economics at the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. She plans to graduate with a Business Economics degree in 2027.
With a passion for economics and sustainability, Zorena is a United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Mapping Project Volunteer who has researched the extent to which sustainability topics were included in the University of Liverpool Management School. Through the knowledge gained as a UN volunteer, she later achieved the Bloomberg Environmental Social Governance Certificate.
Zorena is also a student ambassador at university and a member of the Economics Society, Global Opportunities Society, African-Caribbean Society, and the University of Liverpool Football Team.
Prior to university, Zorena graduated from the Bermuda High School for Girls where she achieved high grades in 9 IGCSEs, including Mathematics, Physics, Biology, English Literature, English Language, and Economics. She later earned her International Baccalaureate Diploma at Warwick Academy where she obtained Principal Honors in Academics.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Zorena has equally excelled in sports and community service. She has been involved with the Bermuda National Football Academy since 2017. She has attended numerous international tournaments and training camps with the U14, U17, U20, and women’s teams. In 2019, she was Captain of the Bermuda High School Football Association. She has coached U9, U11, and U13 girls at the Bascome Futbol Leadership Academy, and was a member of the Warwick Academy Football Team from 2021 to 2023 where she received Principal Honours in Sport.
Zorena has also volunteered at the PGA Bermuda Championship and with SailGP Endeavor.
In terms of personal achievements, she has earned the Royal Life Saving National Beach Qualification, the Botanical Science Award, and the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.
