Madrid, Spain - July 12, 2017

XL Catlin’s insurance operation in Iberia today announced that Carlota Martínez and Antonio Prior have joined the Financial Lines team in Madrid as Senior Underwriters, and that Silvia Fernández has been promoted to Junior Underwriter. All three will report to Ana Dores, Financial Lines Underwriting Manager based in Madrid. The appointments and promotion supports XL Catlin’s drive to further strengthen its growing Financial Lines capabilities and continue providing first class underwriting and service to clients and brokers in Iberia.

Commenting on the appointments and promotion, José Ramón Morales, Country Manager Iberia for XL Catlin’s insurance operation, said: “Our Iberia insurance operation achieved a growth of more than 20% across business lines in 2016. To keep offering market leading products and services and continue capturing profitable growth opportunities, it is critical that we continue to attract the best talent from the market. I am delighted to welcome Carlota and Antonio to the team, and congratulate Silvia on her promotion.”

Ana Dores, Financial Lines Underwriting Manager for XL Catlin’s insurance operation, added: “The Financial Lines team in Iberia is delivering outstanding work and I am extremely pleased to be strengthening the team on the ground. Carlota has both broad and detailed knowledge of the industry from a broker perspective and Antonio’s experience in PI and Construction products will support our clients’ needs locally. Silvia’s extensive knowledge in International programs will also ensure that our FL clients have right protections in place as corporate governance laws/regulations continue to strengthen in many countries.”

Before joining XL Catlin, Ms Martínez spent 15 years as a Financial Lines broker at AON. She holds a degree in Law from C.E.U San Pablo University and a masters degree in Law from IE Law School.

Mr. Prior was previously a Financial Lines Senior Underwriter covering PI, SPPI and CG&C at Generali España S.A. Mr. Prior holds a degree in Business Administration from ICADE University and a course in Stock Exchanges from Estudios Financieros.

Before joining XL Catlin in 2013, Ms. Fernández worked at AIG (CHARTIS). She holds a double degree in Business Administration and Law from Autónoma of Madrid University and she is a candidate to a Civil Liability Master degree from University of Granada.
