XL Catlin’s insurance operations today announced the appointment of Elishe Quek as Underwriter, Casualty and Alice Chong as Senior Underwriter, Casualty, based respectively in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Ms. Quek will be responsible for retail Liability insurance in Singapore and wholesale Casualty insurance across Asia. Ms. Chong will be responsible for developing XL Catlin’s Casualty portfolio in Hong Kong.

Daniel Fay, Regional Product Leader, International Casualty – É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ, commented: “The International Monetary Fund expects economic growth in Asia Pacific to reach 5.3%. Additionally it is forecast that insurance purchasing will increase by around 10% across Asia; investing in our Casualty team in Singapore and Hong Kong positions us ideally to better meet this demand.”

Mr. Fay added: “I’m delighted to welcome Elishe and Alice to the team.  They are both experienced underwriters and their knowledge of their local markets will prove invaluable to our brokers and clients across Asia.”

Ms. Quek brings with her more than 22 years of experience in the insurance industry. She joins XL Catlin from AIG Asia Pacific É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ where she was a Casualty Underwriter. Prior to AIG, Elishe worked at Sompo Japan É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ, Aon Singapore and Tokio Marine É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ.

Ms. Chong has 11 years’ experience. She spent nine years at AIG in Hong Kong where she most recently served as Casualty Underwriting Manager.
