XL Catlin today announced the promotion of Joe Blenkinsopp to theposition of Chief Underwriting Officer for its Political Risk and Trade Credit(PRTC) team.

Mr. Blenkinsopp assumes the role with immediate effect, having previouslyheld the position of Deputy Global Head of the PRTC team.

In his new role, Mr. Blenkinsopp will be responsible for managing a teamof political risk and trade credit underwriters globally. He is based in Londonand reports to Neil Robertson, XL Catlin鈥檚 Chief Executive of Global Specialty.

Commenting, Mr. Robertson said: "I am delighted that Joe hasassumed the role of Global Head of PRTC. Joe joined XL, now XL Catlin,when we set up the PRTC team in 2011. With over 25 years of experience in the insuranceindustry and having previously held senior leadership and management positionsin global underwriting and broking firms, Joe is well positioned to lead ourPRTC team into the future for the newly formed XL Catlin.鈥�

Mr. Blenkinsopp assumes the role from RichardMaxwell who will be leaving the company following four years of service. Mr.Robertson commented: 鈥淚 want to thank Richard for his contributions tobuilding a globally recognized and respected team and wish him all the best inthe future.鈥�
