Gary Kaplan, head of AXA XL’s North America Construction insurance business, has joined the Board of Directors of the Rapid Results Institute, a not-for-profit organization that creates transformative and sustained impact on complex societal issues around the world, including work in homelessness, healthcare, and criminal justice systems.“As the RRI moves towards embedding the 100-Day Challenge within the way governments and communities approach their day to day work, we are excited to have Gary join us as a mentor and advisor - given his experience in embedding the principles and practices of RRI work at É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ” said Nadim Matta, President of the Rapid Results Institute.“The Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) approach encourages achieving significant results in a short period of time, usually 90-100 days,” explained Mr. Kaplan. “RRIs have played a significant role in driving our business success at AXA XL. Knowing that this approach can have a positive impact in business, I’m excited to become more involved with the Rapid Results Institute and their 100-Day Challenges, as they help community service leaders and activists learn and employ the RRI principles and practices to influence positive change on major social issues in their communities.”In 2017, Mr. Kaplan participated in a RRI 100-Day Challenge Launch Workshop. The two-day event focused on helping community leaders and front-line staff in Baltimore, MD; Columbus, OH; Louisville, KY: Minneapolis, MN and Palm Beach, FL to set unreasonable goals, and develop innovative work plans to find solutions to prevent and end youth homelessness in their communities. By the end of the 100 days, these 5 communities had safely and stable housed 687 youth and young adults. Since then, 2 additional cohorts of communities have successfully completed 100-Day Challenges on youth homelessness, bringing the total housed to 2,485 youth and young adults – with 2 more cohorts currently underway.Mr. Kaplan joined AXA in May 2010 to develop a new business unit solely dedicated to addressing the risk management needs of the Construction industry. Prior to his current position with AXA, Gary spent more than 20 years with Zurich North America Commercial, most recently as President of Construction.
