AXA XL’s UK & Lloyd’s Business Unit has today announced the appointment of Louise Nevill as Chief Underwriting Officer – Specialty and Sundeep Khera as Head of Marine and Energy.

These appointments are part of a wider restructure of AXA XL’s UK & Lloyd’s underwriting operating model under the leadership of Chief Underwriting Officer, Mike Gosselin.

Ms Nevill will be responsible for leading the Specialty pillar, including Equine, Livestock & Aquaculture; Fine Art & Specie; Sports, Media and Entertainment; Political Violence, Security Risk and Product Recall; Political Risk, Credit & Bond; and Energy, Marine and Aerospace. Ms Nevill will report into Mr Gosselin.

Mr Khera, who has served in his current role as Global Chief Underwriting Officer - Marine Hull, and Head of Marine Underwriting, UK & Lloyd’s since 2021, will move into his expanded leadership role with immediate effect. Mr Khera will report into Ms Nevill when she joins É«¶à¶àÊÓƵlater this year.

Commenting on the appointments, Mike Gosselin, Chief Underwriting Officer, UK & Lloyd’s said: “This is an exciting stage of the UK’s underwriting transformation. “Both Louise and Sundeep are extremely respected in the market, and Louise specifically will play a key role in supercharging our entire speciality function, while maintaining underwriting discipline and optimising profitability.”

Ms Nevill joins from Marsh, where she has served as CEO of Marine, Cargo, and Logistics, Marsh Specialty UK for over five years. A seasoned marine underwriter, who graduated into specialty underwriting management, Ms Nevill has nearly 30 years of experience across broking and underwriting.

Prior to joining AXA in 2013, Mr Khera held several roles in shipping operations, stowage planning, commercial and general management. As a Master Mariner, he has extensive sailing experience on commercial vessels, including crude tankers, product tankers, and bulk carriers.
