É«¶à¶àÊÓƵtoday announced the promotion of Kareen Richardson to Head of Healthcare in its Bermuda É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ Excess Casualty business.

Ms Richardson, who has more than 27 years of experience in the insurance industry in both casualty/healthcare underwriting and broking roles, is responsible for developing, implementing and driving strategies of AXA XL’s Bermuda É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ Healthcare underwriting unit. She reports to Head of Excess Casualty Bermuda Vivienne Moniz.

Ms Richardson began her insurance career in the Claims Department of what was then XL É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ (Bermuda) Ltd.  She later worked as a Technical Assistant in the Casualty Underwriting Department and subsequently has held progressively senior industry roles. This includes Assistant Vice President, Healthcare Underwriter at Endurance Specialty É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ Ltd., Senior Vice President, Bermuda Operations Manager/Team Leader and Senior Healthcare Placement Manager at Integro É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ Brokers. She returned to É«¶à¶àÊÓƵin 2019 as Vice President, Senior Underwriter in the Excess Casualty Department.

Commenting on the promotion, Ms Moniz said: “We congratulate Kareen on this well-deserved advancement. Her vast industry knowledge and experience in healthcare has been an asset to the Excess Casualty Team, particularly as we navigated our business through the global pandemic.”

Ms Richardson is a Founding Committee Member of the Bermuda Healthcare Forum and an Education Committee Member of the Bermuda ASHRM chapter. She was named “Power Broker of the Year” in Healthcare by Risk & É«¶à¶àÊÓƵ magazine in 2015.
